I know the MTSOs participate in bidding wars, but if you look at their operating cost with QA, billing, payroll, benefits, staff management, distribution of work, office space, sales, etc., they have a lot more expenses than a single IC MT working for a small group. So in a bidding war for this small group, the MT can provide a MUCH lower rate, and one that we can live on. It may or may not be possible for us to take our jobs back, but I'd love to hear from others, like you, who have experience in working in the EMRs or transferring audio and transcription.
