They say that people who are successful do what others will not.

What you are not realizing in this scenario is that you have to pay for interfaces to the hospital EMR which could be 10K or more. You have to pay for phone lines for the dictation and you have to pay for a cloud server also. Some hospitals require you to have a million dollars in liability insurance. There are also digital stations that the ER doctors use which are very expensive, and all of those things you would be responsible to pay for and maintain.

With a large hospital account you also have to have a manager to make sure stats are handled, you have enough MTs to meet the TAT, etc. All those things add up.

Of course with a physician office you don't have the volume but you still need to pay for software, cloud server, phone in lines or provide them with digital recorders. Just one digital recorder is between 400 & 500 hundred dollars and sometimes they break and you have to replace them.

Just something to think about from someone who has been there.
