An MT may only have a high school diploma but they have to prove they have had training to become a transcriptionist.
There is no training past high school required for scribes â no anatomy or drug knowledge. That lack of knowledge on the part of such a scribe multiplied by doctors who also cannot or will not correctly pronounce drugs or body parts is a horrible error waiting to happen.
You may be fortunate enough to have a medical assistant functioning as a scribe, but, from what has been posted here in the past, some offices just put scribes in scrubs like the rest of the staff and just hope the patient never questions their presence or credentials.
I hope MTs on here are not so willing to be sheep.
