Providers are required to use the new ICD 10 codes, so maybe that's what's going on. The three practices that are my primaries are doing this. I have no idea how it might relate to an eventual shift to EMR.
I'm not a coder, so I may not have explained this properly, but as far as I can tell, it is at present mainly due to the beginning of the use of ICD 10 codes.
