Are you saying that scribes are licensed by states, the same as nurses? Is this certification recognized/required by providers nationwide (unlike the CMT pseudo-certification)?

Not trying to be sarcastic -- just wondering how the American College of Medical Scribe Specialists set itself up as the credentialing entity. Are there other organizations that do credentialing as well? Reading the ACMSS website would lead me to believe that scribes are the up-and-coming stars of healthcare documentation and reimbursement (on a par with PAs or NPs) yet only require a high school diploma or GED and the successful completion of a 100-question test. Is this for real?
