I'd like to point out that even if you do get paid training, it's been 8 hours maximum. So one day's worth of base rate. It's better than nothing, true, but how much proficiency will you truly gain in surgical terminology in just ONE DAY? It would be nice if Synernet would offer to help these newbies to ops, but why in the world were these MTs hired without the experience in the first place? We had a big hiring push a year or 2 back, had work, work and more work, and now that it's slower these MTs are expected to pull their weight. Less time on the boards and more time looking for another job to cater to your abilities maybe? If that is considered catty, so be it. About that same time we all got dumped into new work pools, with no notice what was coming. And it wasn't necessarily the accounts you had spent months or years doing. It is what it is; they do this crap. Those of us who aren't the favored few get new accounts on a regular basis, see them once or twice and maybe not again for weeks or months or EVER. It's not productive and it's a backward way of handling your employees, but in the end there is nothing to do but put up or shut up. Or start finding a whole lot more time to work out at the gym with grandmas.
