Well... Do I just be a B and stick rigidly to instructions? - am I gonna get smacked

Not allowed to use our brain. Doctor says, "today's date is". Yes, most of us would be 99% sure that he also means the progress note is for today, but according to dictum, unless the doctor says "date of service", you cannot use that date as the date of service, except for the rare CP stating you can. Gee. No FIN number, so.......... is that a progress note for the current admission or a past admission.... Logic would tell you this admission, ..... but ..... dictum does not yield to logic. Guess I will upset the client and not even chose a FIN encounter. Wonder if I will get smacked, but just following orders to the nth degree.
