It is really difficult to say... - NoMo Posted: Sep 27th, 2015 - 6:46 pm In Reply to: Editing - anon
As your daily production is dependent on so many varying factors. If you typically work on the same account with familiar speakers and have plenty of work to keep you busy for an 8 hour shift, it would be possible to do 2500 or more. If you are bouncing back and forth from account to account and never have the chance to become super familiar with your speakers, constantly run OOW, or have such horrible audio/dictators that you are basically retyping the entire report rather than just editing a few things, your production will suffer. In my experience, many reports require so much editing, you're better off just straight typing the report; however, you will of course only be paid the edited line rate.
The key to high production is familiarity with your account so you can possible create macros to help you with repetitive areas of a report and so you don't have to do as much research on old reports to determine what the speaker might be saying. Also, things that are out of your control, such as having good quality audio and dictators who know how to appropriately dictate a report, having enough work to keep you busy for an entire shift, etc, are extremely important in having high production.
