I worked for a different company on that ASR stuff too and after 41 years of this profession I have also trucked on. Never thought that I would ever see ASR in my working life time. I was an AAMT member and officer in the 1990's and we heard of ASR but never ever dreamed it would be a possibility. Put a fork in me, I am done.
I went on to a different profession totally (driving bus) and with my deceased husband's SS I should be okay, but you are so right about the pay equivalent to 35 years ago. I also do a little dog sitting which pays for my vacations and special things. So sad that it came down to this.
Good luck to you. I think my BP has dropped and my stress level is much better and I can "sleep in" as I was working at 5 a.m.
