Is there any way out of this? - needachangeasap

Hi.  I have been an MT for 30 years, the last 20 pretty solid transcription/editing only.  I have office experience though it has been 20 years.  I am looking for a job in a medical office or hospital doing simple patient check in/out and clerk type jobs, which I am more than qualified for, yet I can't get a single response to the multitude of job applications I have put in.  Are we destined to die MTs once we're in here?  I could go back to school, but at my age I'm afraid I would do that and still not get hired.  Is it because I'm almost 50?  I feel trapped!!!
