No experience at all is much better than really, really bad experience.

I know people who tried to get jobs with that certain really bad MT employer on their resume. Nobody wanted them because they had such a poor reputation. It was awful! There was a good reason for it though because anyone who worked for that particular company were forced to do the work the way they wanted it and eventually thought it was the right way to do it. You can't fix something like that. Nobody wanted them. They would rather hire someone with no experience rather than bad experience.
