If one is not forthcoming and it's okay with your state, go ahead and file for partial unemployment. Just the fact of your filing might put a fire under their butt to find you enough work. It is absolutely not fair that we should have to use PTO for being out of work, as vacation time is essential for an employee's health and well being and not to cover an employer's a$$ for not being able to manage work flow properly and/or overstaff an account.
