I don't understand how someone who has never been an MT can do QA. I was an MT for over 30 years and moved into a QA spot a few years ago. My facility has very specific guidelines that I follow, and I have never approached the job as a chance to target anyone or make them look bad. I would definitely never change a report to get someone in trouble. The QA job is many things, I especially enjoy being able to provide feedback that helps people learn. I know some QA staff get on power trips and I totally don't get that as it's not any more important than the role that MTs play and I learn from them too. I would much rather be be transcribing but that job went away.
