You do not exactly need a separate room. You need an area that is exclusively used for business. If you do not have that, what are you doing to work? Clearing the breakfast dishes to set up on the kitchen table or sitting on the couch? Look more closely at what you have. Chances are, you have something or would have if you put up a divider or something.
