How they'll do it...sm - Tanya

VA MTSOs have to pay minimum wage for MTs based on what that area's wage for an MT is. Just left a job with a VA MTSO so this is how they figure it.

Say the minimum wage is $15 an hour. Now, they claim the VA won't pay for spaces, so they figure lines on VBC only. You have to produce so many lines an hour for an hour's pay (say 175 lines for $15). Remember, they're not paying for spaces. So what they do is they take the number of lines you manage to produce during the pay period and divide that by 175 lines per hour, to get the number of hours they'll pay you for. For 3500 lines (VBC only, remember, no spaces), you'll get paid for 20 hours or $300. 7000 lines, 40 hours, or $600. Doesn't matter if it takes you 30 hours to produce those 3000 lines or 80 hours to produce the 7000 lines due to crappy dictators, creepy breathers, page flippers, having to research, occasional potty breaks, whatever. You get paid for 20 hours or 40 hours, whichever applies. Period.

Since you're not getting paid for spaces, that's what, actually about an 80 character line? You can type until you're blue in the face and not make 175 lines an hour.

Just another way to screw you.
