You can use some of that material you put under rugs to keep them from slipping. You can find it in dollar stores or any grocery store.
I can't help you on keyboard recommendations as I have been very happy with the Microsoft 4000 for years. The only thing I would like to change is to have a trackball in the middle that you could operate without taking all your hands off the home keys. I've seen some but they are over $400.
