Unfortunately, you're in for a bit of a shock. - During the past 8 years, MT work -sm Posted: Jun 30th, 2015 - 7:19 pm In Reply to: Looking for work - Angeleyes
has been drying up so fast, it's rare that anyone working for an MTSO can do enough lines in a day to pay their electric bills, let alone their rent.
In-house jobs are all but extinct now. The few that exist are usually temporary - just long enough to train the facility's new front-end SR software. Then you're tossed out the door once it's up and running.
The pay per line has dropped precipitously, and continues to drop still. Meanwhile, speed and accuracy requirements are unrealistic and for the most part unattainable.
Seriously, the best thing you can do for yourself is not even bother looking for work in MT, but to find work in another field. Good luck in your search!
