Could you be a little clearer here? Are you requesting PTO way ahead or at the last minute, and if it is way ahead are you asking why? Our TSM sends us e-mails when certain slots are filled for our group in our POD. I have never been denied and always ask within the 45 day limit on holiday requests and at least a month ahead even for non-holiday requests. If you are doing this and still being denied then I would insist that she tell you exactly when exactly are there openings to use PTO and you want to take a slot right now or ask her just exactly what it would take for you to be granted PTO so you do not lose it before the year is out. It will be Thanksgiving and Christmas before you know it and they will be denying those holidays too. Escalate the situation if you have to.
