Accuracy, expanders, and production - shipwrecked Posted: Nov 7th, 2009 - 2:33 pm
My/our job, as I see it, is to listen to dictation and transcribe/edit it into a medical report. How we get from point A to point B should be up to us. If the report is accurate, who cares if we type it with our toes standing on our heads?
Using expanders for big chunks of text only ensures accuracy. Hand-typing the same paragraph over and over increases the risk of typos and other mistakes that can be avoided by an accurate expander.
My goal is to send in a "perfect" report. Obviously MQ has other ideas - perhaps ensuring that we have increasingly less income and lining their own pockets. With unemployment now over 10%, they know we'll swallow whatever they feed us and be grateful that we have a job. My income this year will be 2/3 less than I earned 3 years ago.
