you must do it when they need you the most or there is plenty of work. In other words, on the weekends. Cause if you just worked when you wanted then it would kind of not be fair to someone scheduled during that time if you were taking work from them.. that is kinda what the staff gap thing was supposed to do, see when the need was for MTs and spread them out better for coverage and no NJA... but in the grand scheme of things, sometimes there is more work than others and that is just a fact.. it cant all be predicted obviously.. they are just so anal about TAT that when there is a little more than normal they panic and offer OT and extra incentives, then all the work gets gobbled up and we are back were we started with NJA.
Sorry for the run-on sentence. LOL
You can chose no pay or PTO as well.
