veterans' or veteran's, veterans is wrong! - vet

Posted: Nov 4th, 2009 - 5:40 pm In Reply to: Veterans - Wondering

what makes you think that everything on that website is right?
Especially the grammar and spelling?
We are the experts, or should be!

If veterans is considered a 'group' what I doubt, it still needs an apostrophe, the apostrophe would comes like that: Veteran's affairs.

But why should it be considered a 'group?'

Veterans is the plural of veteran, therefore it is

Veterans' affairs = the affairs of the Veterans!

Or

veteran's affairs = the affairs of 1 veteran.

Possessive genitive!
