I assume you're referring to the Bible.
You're free to believe what you want.
My mom's dad was an evil, cruel man. Never believed in God, salvation, Jesus, the Bible, or any such matter. On his death bed, he lost consciousness for a few moments. He woke up screaming "THE HOUNDS, THE HOUNDS!!!! GET THEM OFF!!!! THEY'RE BITTING AT MY FEET!!!!" At that point he died. Don't believe in Hell? I do. That's not a BS story. And it's a very frightening one to me.
I think God would be very sad to hear one of his flock referring to himself and the rest of the people in the Bible as fictional characters but you are free to do as you please.
