AssistMed is currently hiring – AST Editor
We are looking for independent contractors to fill a full-time position that will cover late afternoons/evenings and weekends. Applicants must have 2 years’ experience with multi-specialty clinic work.
Windows XP or Vista, Word 2003 or above, familiarity with the AHDI Book of Style, medical spellchecker, and a full medical reference library are required.
Applicants must possess the following skills:
- An excellent work-at-home discipline with a commitment to work an 8-hour shift on scheduled days.
- High-speed cable or DSL connection.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Excellent knowledge and use of English grammar and punctuation.
- Excellent knowledge and use of medical terminology and pharmacology.
- Knowledge and understanding of medicolegal implications related to medical transcription guidelines and standards.
- Excellent auditory function for transcribing ESL and difficult dictators.
- Excellent medical transcription knowledge and auditory skills for interpreting, evaluating, and transcribing dictation without altering the intended connotation.
- Ability to self-educate through the use of work-related reference materials.
- Ability and commitment to edit and maintain an accuracy rating of 98% or above and meet strict client turnaround time deadlines.
